Canada > British Columbia > Greater Vancouver > North Vancouver
I was born and raised in North Vancouver, a large but unique district containing some of the most beautiful natural wonders found on earth. In North Vancouver, the possibilities to do amazing things are endless. You can go skiing, snow boarding, mountain biking, hiking, swimming, sailing, kayaking, canoeing etc, etc... The scenery is not too bad either; snow-capped mountains piercing the sky like the cathedrals that are found in heaven, and lush green forests, bursting with life. The ocean glitters in the sunlight and multicolored starfish grip the barnacle encrusted rocks. My favorite thing to do is walk down to the beach and sit on a rock, gazing out at the mountains and water that seem too beautiful to be real. When I am there, I find a serenity that pulls me out of my hectic school life and allows me to connect with the gifts that God so generously bestowed upon us. The gifts of a paradise where nature lives in perfect harmony. North Vancouver is not only incredible because of it’s natural beauty, it also has a wide spectrum of different cultures that is difficult to find in other places. At Lonsdale Key, you can eat foods from countries all around the world like Thailand, India, Japan, China, Greece, Italy and Ukraine. In the area of North Vancouver where I live, Deep Cove, there is a tight knit community where everyone seems to somehow know everyone from somewhere. The people are warm and generous in Deep Cove and are always willing to help someone in need. The little coffee shop in the Cove, Honey’s, is always full of friends drinking coffee and laughing and there is a feeling in the Cove that it is almost like a family. I know that I could never be happier living in any other place that North Van. It has this quality of timeless beauty and close comradeship that truly makes it feel like home. From its snow topped mountains, shimmering waters and quiet forests to its culturally diverse qualities and true feeling of community, North Vancouver is definitely the greatest place to live in the entire world.
