Hi, my name's Keith and I live in the small town of Wheatley; in Ontario, Canada. Some would even go as far as to call my little town a village because of the size of our neighboring city, (Windsor, Ontario, Canada). I don't think size is an issue when it comes to how great a village, town, city, or even how great a country is. All that matters is the people who reside there. Towns are not great unless there are enough great people who live in them. Perhaps you have no clue what I'm talking about... Allow me to elaborate a little; I live in a town where I'm not afraid to trust the other residents and they're not afraid to trust me. I have a two year old daughter and both my wife and I can sleep comfortably at night knowing there's no better place in the world for us, our home is here. Down the street, two small blocks from my house is our local police detatchment. Quick, on the ball officers who will occasionally turn the blind eye to a speeding or parking ticket; as long as you don't make a habit of commiting these infractions. Continue down two blocks and you'll reach "Martin's", our local grocery store. Ever picked up every single item on your grocery list only to realize your wallet is taking a nap on the end table beside your bed? How embarassing! "Oh don't worry about it. Happens to us all, pay me next time you're in". That's Dan speaking, he's the manager of the store. He measures in short I'm sure when compared to the average height of Canadians 5'4". I'll bet he doesn't stand more then 3'7" tall, but what he lacks in size he makes up for in heart. Our town is full of people like Dan, including my wife and I who love to help out in every way we can. I guess, NO, I know that it's the people that make my town great and if only people could see (even if it is on a small scale) what happens when they get along; the entire world could be as great as any little town out there. Oh yeah, feel free to visit our little town any time you like, we love guests! Keith, and the town of Wheatley, Ontario, Canada Keith Submitted: Monday 9th February 2004, 4:50 PM
