I love my town firstly because anywhere you want to go from here is a short, scenic ride. My neighbors are the most caring of any where that I've lived and the police are there to service your every need. Most memorable was last year, the terrible snow storm. Snow so high that as I looked across the street to see if anyone was around and all I could see was the handle of my neighbors' station wagon. My brain almost shut down with fears about how I would get food or what if I lost electrical service or, who would know or care, when suddenly, my phone rang and it was the local police. They wanted to re-assure me that if I had any emergencies, that I could call them. They knew of some people on my block who lived alone and thought I might be one of them.

This was my first year in Wildwood. Single, black and female. None of which, in my experience, qualified me for unsolicited help from the local police. Also, it's a resort town. So in the summer, it is a very happening place. I live near the boardwalk. There are any number of amusements, entertainment and fine dining. Yet even with so many folks in town, it's still a very safe and pleasant place to live. With so much seafood available and so many beautiful places to walk to, there is no excuse not to stay in shape. Even in the winter, because the local business's care about the local residents. Lastly, let me add that without the kindness I've found in Wildwood, New Jersey, my kitties and I would have surely been homeless. For that, I am deeply grateful.
