USA > Vermont > Clarendon
I love my hometown of Clarendon. It's a small town in rural Vermont, and I'm glad my parents brought me up here. It's pretty much safe, and a beautiful place to be. The local high school, made up of students from about six nearby towns, has only about 800 students, and I'm one of them. It's small, and everyone pretty much knows each other. But Clarendon is so great outside, too. We have excellent weather, or at least that's what I think. During the winter, students ore pleasantly distracted during class to stare at the snow, because it's beautiful. Or they may actually be planning what to do the next day when school gets cancelled. The mountains, which can be seen in any direction you look, are like piles of sugar. During the spring, we get rain, which I adore, and all of the farmers and gardeners go outside and plant. The fruits of that labor soon are seen, and in summer, when those plants are mature, the weather is perfect and the residents of this and the neighbor, Wallingford, gather at the picturesque lake to swim and socialize. As I said before, we are surrounded entirely be mountains, so in the fall, we see foliage at every turn. This place is great. I hear people all of the time saying how they dislike it (although those aren't usually their exact words, if you get my drift) and can't wait to get out of the state. But as for me, I know I'll be coming back. The charm and scenery, and overall environment will draw me like a magnet. Alexis P Submitted: Friday 23rd January 2004, 7:28 PM
