My town is the perfect place for any kid to grow up in. And I've made lots of memories here, so naturally, I love it. It's small, I think the population just stretches a little over 500. Everyone knows everyone else, not to mention their business and what they're doing the second they're doing it. It's annoying. A lot of country folk live here so there's a lot of rodeos and such. A perfect opportunity to cause trouble without getting in trouble. Where I live you can sleep with your door wide open and not have to worry about a burglar coming in and taking all your belongings. But you can expect a neighbor to come and ask for a cup of sugar.

Everyone is so friendly here, you don't have to worry about someone not liking you because there would be always someone else to spend your time with. You have to have friends and enemies, you know. There's a grocery store, 2 restaurants, a used clothing store, gas station, car lot, movie store, tax service, 4 churches, and automotive repair. There's a swimming pool in the summer, not to mention all of the lakes and swimming holes you can think of. All year round' there's a pool hall where some of the teens go to play pool and hang out. There's also a long strip from the gas station to the Cox building (also known as "Super Slab") where the teens who can drive race each other to the end of Slab to see who really has the best engine.

I know I can't wait to get out of here, but it's going to be hard leaving because of all the fun I've had. Whether it's ringing the bell at the old gas station and waiting for the local cop to chase you, or whether its just driving around and having a good time it will be so hard because of all the memories I've made along the way. I do have a lot of regrets, but someone once told me you only live one. Being born in Middle-of-Nowhere Kansas is definitely not one of my regrets. You should definitely stop by sometime. It'll be the time of your life, I guarantee it.
