United States > California > Long Beach
Cool ocean breezes; virtually sunny year round. Vintage homes and a beach that truly is long. From here you can drive nearly anywhere; Hollywood, San Diego, San Francisco, Las Vegas to name a few.
Our downtown has a mixture of modern glass and steel high rises with a number of striking art deco buildings that gives Long Beach a big city feel. Our nightlife is enviable with jumping jazz clubs, theatre and a fabulous art district. Yet, Long Beach still has the feel of a close-knit suburban neighborhood, with friendly, helpful people.
If you like the fast track, every spring we have the Long Beach Grand Prix. Thousands of race fans from all over the world flock to Long Beach to watch Indy cars race on the streets.
Not your style of fun? Then spend the day at the Long Beach Aquarium. View exotic reef fish, pet a manta ray or just sit with the lorikeets! After that, take a walk down our ocean front boardwalk. Sample the cuisine at any of the fine restaurants. Take a cruise and go whale watching. Or park yourself on a bench and watch the sun set.
Often overlooked, Long Beach offers a delightful slice of Southern California life without the congestion of some of the larger metropolises but with all the fun!
