The Town I live in is great! When you walk down the street everyone says hello even if they don’t know you. Some parts of my town are still used as farmland, and others are used for neighborhoods and other buildings.

I love my town, but I wouldn’t want to live here the rest of my life. The weather is very cold in the winter. Sometimes the wind chill goes to below zero. It rains a lot in the spring and occasionally it snows. It is chilly in the fall, but not freezing cold. If you like a place with very hot summers, don’t come here. It only gets up to about 80- 90 degrees at the hottest point in the summer.

In late September all of the leaves turn colors. If you can get a good seat on the top of a hill, all around you see colors of red, brown, gold, orange and occasionally some green still left on a tree or two.
In the winter after we get a big snowstorm, all of the branches of the trees are covered in snow. If you go in the woods and look up, it looks like someone sprayed the trees with spray paint.

When the weather turns, you feel like a bear coming out of hibernation. Winter is beautiful and all but you are so glad that it is finally warm. All of the plants pop up and so do the allergies, but I would rather have allergies than a cold.

Summer in McCandless is like spring, but a little warmer. After school is out, the pools open. Instead of homework, everyone is either swimming or playing sports.

We have a lot of wild animals in my backyard. Turkeys, deer, snakes, groundhogs, and squirrels are only a few of them. We have a bunch of creeks around here. They are deep in some parts and shallow in others. I love to walk in the creek with a plastic bag and pick up rocks and once and a while catch some fish.
My town is great. There are a lot of things to do for all seasons. So when you get a chance, come and pay a visit!
