If ever there was a place of mystery and allure let me tell you this isn't it. You see my city is just a city. That is of course until it gets darks. First thing that happens in the darkness is all the night clubs open. Then there are loud noises from next door and you run to the window to see what is going on. When you look you're surprised to find it's the same noise as the one from last night. The harsh annoying yelp of a dog out in the snow. Looking into it's eyes you wish you could help, but then comes your neighbor to tell you leave. They tell you to leave them and their dog alone as if they heard nothing. Then when you leave you wonder whether it is something good or bad to leave a dog out in the freshly fallen winter snow. This is when you remember that you have a date so it is back to reality on a get ready rush. Get the shoes, the belt, the pants, and the shirt. Then you decide amongst sneakers and shoes. Without hesitation you move on to your pants, which need to match the sneakers that you have chosen. Minutes later your time is down to the minute, the race is at it's peak. Your mind is racing and again you hear the painful yelp. Ahhhh! This is nuts you say without realizing that you are at the movies with your date. Wondering if this embarrassing moment was worth it. Figuring out that it was useless, because after all this you're going home again. All this for nothing, but a day wasted and new hours gone like the yelping dog escaping the winter you run out of the theatre. Thinking goodbye, but only running. Dangerously right about all the wrong of the right of passage of all the time gone. Then at home you wake up to the funny tune on your nokia phone. You pick up and hear the wind howl as if that was the sole purpose of the call. Feeling that this is too familiar. Sadly this is all a dream then it is gone like my town truly is. The boring little place where I once lived this is Providence. The one town for me.
