Rogue River the town that time has forgotten. I've lived in rogue river for about sixteen years now. I remember moving here from Washington, we traveled down the I-5 for about six hours until we had to stop for a lunch break. little did I know we would plant roots here. What are the odds we would spot the nicest little town with the smallest unmarked exit I've ever seen. Anyways we pulled into town wondering is there a McDonalds or Taco Bell anywhere? Nope not one, only this little place next to a gas station called Mr. Wills with a huge sign on the side of the building that said "Best Burgers On The I-5", Well being the burger lover that I was I told my dad "Hey pop let's test that claim". So we walk inside, and this place is a historical site, as well as, a burger shop, I mean there was some serious history here, were talkin' a 50year old building with a picture every year of how the town went from a single lane street to about 8, But the best was about to come the famous burger. So we take a seat in the fifty's style chairs and sure enough over walks Mr. Will him self. His first words "you folks aren't from around here are ya", well , I said "no sir where just passen threw and wanted the best burger on the I-5". Mr. Will says "ok two burgers and a coke coming up" no menu, no choice, you eat at Mr. Wills you have it his way. About 20min. later he brings out the biggest, juiciest, mouth watering burger I have ever seen. This burger was a two pattie, four cheese, L.O.T all the works. I sunk my teeth into that burger and the next words I said where "Dad I think we need to live here". With His mouth full he mumbled "Son I think your right this here is a bite of real America". Sixteen years later I've never had a better burger and never found a better town to live in. This is my home. Jeremiah J Submitted: Wednesday 25th February 2004, 4:00 PM
