United States > California > San Jose
I have been born and raised in San Jose CA. However, throughout the fourteen years of my life, I have traveled all over the United States and even into both the Caribbean and Mexico. I have gone to some very nice places that I enjoy even more then San Jose, for example Westin WV. I enjoyed being able to relax and hang out all I want. When it comes to living, however, I have decided that you can’t beat San Jose!
San Jose has something very unique that most cities cant brag about. We are the safest big city in the United States. Sure, we are not the safest, but considering the number of people that live here, our police force should be proud! Not once have I heard a gun shot fired, or been in the middle of a gang fight, or even seen anyone getting high. This may not sound like a big deal, but lets not forget that I am in high school and stuff like that is very common in other high schools around other places. You may be wondering if I live in a rich area or that I go to private school, well actually to that is no. Of course, there are gangs, drugs, and fights at my school; but to get involved in one is purely your choice. I don’t have to worry about getting shot while walking down the street like other schools in other cities do. I consider this to make any city better then another. I hope that by now you believe me when I say that San Jose is the best town in the world! However, incase you haven’t, I have saved my favorite thing about San Jose for last. I love its diversity! Sure, most cities do have diversity, but here in San Jose, these different cultures have been together for such a long time that we have all blended into one. Its like we are all one family and therefore we are free to be different or embarrass ourselves. Stuff like all of a sudden getting up and dancing just because you feel like it is not a big deal. We all understand that we all have different backgrounds and we have been exposed to these backgrounds. Instead of looking down on a foreign exchange student for being weird, he or she gets immediate respect. If all cities were like this, so many problems in the world today would disappear!
