I no longer live in my home town where I was born and raised, but I loved it when I did. It was especially fun in the summer months. The late evening softball games at Harmon Park always seemed to have a good crowd cheering the players on for a winning score. Watching the games was also a great way to meet new friends and other interesting people. There was a concession stand where you could buy cotton candy, snow cones, pop, candy and more. The city pool used to be at Harmon Park, but they tore it out years before I moved. The park just wasn't the same after that.

There are a lot of tourist attractions in and around Twin Falls. The Shoshone Falls is one of the main ones, and when the water is gushing over it with full force it's an awesome sight. If you make a right turn before you get to the falls you end up at Derekes Lake where cliff diving was once the rage. Both of these bodies of water are part of the Snake River, which flows throughout the state. In fact, it was the Snake River Canyon that Evil K. tried jumping with his cycle, but failed at his daring attempt. I was babysitting that night and missed watching the live event, which took place in none other, but my home town of Twin Falls. The Hell's Angels were every where in the town during that time, probably a few other biker gangs as well.

Twin Falls is surrounded by famous landmarks, that you don't have to drive hundred miles to see, like the Balanced Rock, The Craters of the Moon, the Malad Gorge, the Mammoth Caves and the Ice Caves. There are also several hot springs for one to soak their weary bones in less than an hours drive away. One of my personal favorite hot springs is found near the town of Hagerman, it is called the Miracle Hot Springs, and it has several private baths plus a larger outdoor pool. Miracle Hot Springs makes a great place for a family outing or to just relax with your spouse or close personal friend.

The most favorite thing I like about my home town of Twin Falls is that it is surrounded by great fishing. It has several hatcheries where you can fish and then of course there is the Snake River. Crystal Springs, which is at the bottom of the Snake River Canyon, and between Twin Falls and the town of Jerome, is one of my favorite fishing areas. It has a great picnic area and several fishing sights, not to mention the crystal blue water that is a rare sight these days with all of the pollution that spoils many of our nation's rivers and streams. If you want to do some serious trout fishing then Twin Falls is a great place to live because it is, in my opinion, the center point for it.

Twin Falls also has several golf courses and a race track if you're in to that type of activity. If you are one who likes to gamble occasionally then Jackpot, Nevada is only a forty-five minute drive away. There is always something within reach to satisfy the activity seeker, whether it's golf, fishing, swimming, camping, hiking, mountain climbing, and skiing (both water and snow).

In the winter months around Christmas time the city decks the town with lights and other decorations. The City Park always looks festive with the trees lit up. If you have never been there missing out on a lot of fun and excitement.
